MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 1, 2000 MEETING IN LAS VAGAS, NV
The meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m. by Brian Nook. Those present included:
John Downes, ICA; Jim Lowrance, Prosport; Alan Palmer, CEPA; Brian Nook, FICS;
Jeffrey Solomon, ACASC; Hal Rosenberg, PCCN Sports Council; Ed Corley, Prosport;
Mike Branch, ACASC; Ron Spallone, CEPA; Chris Alvarez, ACA; Don Aspegren, Prosport; Sheila Wilson, ACASC; Tom Hyde, FICS; Monty Wilburn, Prosport; Tim Ray, ACASC; Bob Allen, Prosport.A treasurer’s report was given at about $5,000.
A general discussion ensued and answers were given to bylaws questions, affiliation with FICS, and membership.
Tim Ray moved and Jim Lowrance seconded that interim board members and organizing committee have their 1st year membership waived due to their efforts. The motion was adopted as written.
Ron Spallone moved and Tom Hyde seconded to get the website committee up and running. The motion was adopted. Bill Bonsal, Scott Patton, Bill Henry, and Monty Wilburn were placed on the committee.
Tim Ray moved and Ron Spallone seconded the have Monty Wilburn as Secretary General of the USSCF and adds Jim Lowrance as the Prosport Liaison. The motion was adopted.
It was decided to collect necessary data using Excel as the common Data Base.
Discussion of a Logo was presented but no decision was made.
Brian Nook presented an update of international events and it was decided to form a Salt Lake Olympic City Committee. Those nominated included the USSCF interim board with Laney Nelson and Reed Phillips. The purpose of the committee is to formulate an approach to the 2002 winter games and continue until the games are finalized.
The next meeting of the USSCF will be in decided in the near future and a formal meeting to fully accredit the organization will be in Phoenix in May of 2001.
